Position: Project Leader – Agriculture Research & Technology

Term: Full-Time Position

Location: Portage la Prairie, Manitoba

The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) is an ISO 9001:2015-certified organization established in 1975 to support prairie farmers and agricultural machinery manufacturers. Our state-of-the-art facilities include agricultural testing and benchmarking equipment, as well as advanced computer-aided engineering technologies for prototyping and performance analysis.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Project Management Team Lead, the Project Leader will oversee and execute client projects with a focus on agricultural technology and research.

This role involves managing project scope, schedule, and budget while contributing technical expertise throughout the implementation phase. The Project Leader will work collaboratively to resolve project challenges, ensuring success within budgetary constraints.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects involving agricultural equipment, product testing, and research.
  • Oversee scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Apply technical project expertise in agriculture, and agricultural industry related sectors.
  • Schedule internal resources and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Address and resolve project issues proactively with support from the Team Lead.
  • Promote and implement best practices, systems, and processes in a safety-conscious environment.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to ensure project success.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Communicate effectively through reports, presentations, and interpersonal engagement at all management levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred.
  • Formal training or certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Strong business acumen and people management skills.
  • Familiarity with modern agricultural technologies and data collection methods.
