TEchnical Sales representative

Term: Permanent, Full-Time Position

The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) is an ISO 9001:2015-certified organization established in 1975 to support prairie farmers and agricultural machinery manufacturers. Over the years, PAMI has expanded its expertise to serve the mining and transportation industries while maintaining its focus on agriculture. With a professionally diverse team, PAMI provides excellence in product development, testing, and design. Our state-of-the-art facilities include agricultural testing and benchmarking equipment, as well as advanced computer-aided engineering technologies for prototyping and performance analysis.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Technical Sales, the incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients to generate sales in an effective way according to the business development objectives. Following the successful completion of onboarding and training, this position will be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of up to three remote workdays per week, based on operational requirements and performance expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the general duties of the position but are not inclusive of all the detailed tasks that may be required.

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and tenders
  • Prepare documentation protocols
  • Manage and develop existing and new client relationships
  • Contribute to achieve business development sales targets
  • Attend seminars and conferences as required
  • Execute short and long term business development
  • Enter and maintain client data and opportunities into the organizations CRM system
  • Plan daily activities and complete assignments in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as agriculture, engineering, business/project management, or a similar discipline
  • Professional with experience working in agriculture
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, MS Project or other project management systems would be considered an asset
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Strategic and self-disciplined
  • Driven, confident, and personable
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Experience in mining and/or transportation industry is considered an asset
