The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) is an ISO 9001:2015-registered engineering organization established in 1975 to provide a unique resource to both prairie farmers and agricultural machinery manufacturers. We offer our clients access to valuable testing and benchmarking equipment as well as first-rate testing equipment for industry. PAMI also offers computer-aided engineering technologies. With these technologies, PAMI is able to digitally prototype a structure, bulk material, or fluid to analyze the performance of a particular product or system.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Senior Mechanical Engineer provides a lead technical role to manage and implement complex mechanical engineering projects for a wide variety of clients from various industries.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced engineering services related to design, and construction of prototype machines, including drawings of components and systems
- Perform advanced computer aided design, simulation and analysis
- Provide guidance as well as mentoring and training engineers within the organization
- Provide expertise and leadership for field and lab tests
- Assemble, prepare, install, calibrate, maintain, evaluate and operate machines being tested in the field and lab
- Collect, analyze, document and store test data
- Provide reports, meet project milestones, assess risks and issues
- Publish and/or represent PAMI at technical trade shows and conferences
- Write proposals and reports and, where required, develop projects and assist with seeking funding
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma (in Mechanical Engineering, or other related discipline) with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Possess strong communication (written, oral, presentation) skills with the ability to effectively engage at a variety of management levels and with a range of audiences.
- Developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues, contractors and clients.
