Leah Olson appointed CEO of PAMI

After an extensive search, the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) board of directors is pleased to announce Leah Olson as the new Chief Executive Officer effective April 13, 2020.

Leah has over 15 years of senior management experience in the agriculture, manufacturing, and transportation industries. She serves as a director or advisor to numerous organizations including: Sabanto Ag, Intelliconn and Ag West Bio. Some of Leah’s previous roles include CEO of DOT Technology Corp., CEO of SeedMaster Manufacturing, and President of the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada. She also served as a Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor to numerous provincial and federal ministers.

A life-long learner, Leah has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Queen’s University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from Concordia University. She brings a wealth of experience in product development in both the public and private sectors. Leah communicates fluently in French and English.

Project Leader

Location:            Saskatchewan, Manitoba

PAMI is an applied Engineering organization that works in technology and applications development. We employ engineers, agronomists, technologists and professionals skilled in the field of science and technology. We are currently seeking up to two Project Leaders for full time, permanent positions.

Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Monitor and manage a project to best practices (Project Management Principles)
  • Give clear direction to team members to enable them to carry out their duties effectively
  • Create and implement a project plan and execute it to completion
  • Maintain direct and open interaction with leadership to ensure all resources needed for the project are available and also consider the negotiation of amendments to projects
  • Design, construct prototypes, set-up, calibrate and operate test equipment, including feasibility studies
  • Setup and operate equipment being tested
  • Perform basic computer aided design and analysis
  • Collect, analyze, document and store test data
  • Assist with proposal and report writing
  • Innovative problem solving and decision making
  • Communicate effectively with the team and to external clients

 

Education and Experience:

  • University undergraduate degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Agricultural/Biological, BioSystems or equivalent
  • Master’s Degree is considered an asset
  • 5 plus years of experience

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Project Management experience is required
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, electronics, mechanical and hydraulic concepts
  • Experience with agricultural machinery and practices
  • Experience with of testing procedures, engineering design practices, simulation and analysis
  • Experience with value added processing for agricultural products is considered an asset
  • Technical report writing and presentation skills
  • Travel may be required domestically and internationally
